Julie Alicki, LMSW, CADP

Julie is a licensed Master Social Worker and Certified Advanced Dementia Practitioner who has eleven years’ experience  working with adults, especially seniors, in helping them cope with a number of issues such as, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, role adjustment, grief, and caregiver burnout.

Julie uses a person centered approach and utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) in helping individuals and families cope with the many changes that occur as we age. Oftentimes as adults, we are called to care for a loved one who is ill. Caring for another person can be very rewarding but may also lead to feelings of helplessness, anger, frustration, sadness and loneliness. Julie will work with you in understanding your feelings and will assist you in managing the many changes and challenges that occur as you age and/or take on the role of caregiver.

Julie is a member of the Caregiver Resource Network, is an Alzheimer’s Support Group facilitator, a Certified Person Centered Thinking Coach and is on the steering committees of Dementia Friendly Grand Rapids and Rethinking Dementia Accelerating Change.
